“For You”

Hey guys and girls! Teel here. (that weird long-haired fellow) I wanted to share this song that I wrote recently. I hope it can stir up some things in your mind and soul…

You’ve been working so long
Your calloused skin no longer feels
The pain in your hands

But that won’t stop the hurt
It keeps on rolling like
A steely freight train

Jesus took the pain for you

Jesus took the pain for you

Jesus took the shame for you

Jesus took the shame for you

When you swallow your pride
It leaves a bitter hollow
Taste in your mouth

It’s gonna take some hard times
It’s gonna take some faith
Some faith you don’t have

Jesus took the pain for you

Jesus took the pain for you

Jesus took the shame for you

Jesus took the shame for you

This song is about trying to
work for your happiness,
trying to earn God’s love,
trying to rely on your our own strength.

Thankfully,
we do not have to carry that.
Jesus already did.
And no matter how hard we work,
God’s love will always be an unconditional gift
offered freely to those who are willing to receive it.

This is about surrendering
because Jesus already took it all for us,
and that is enough.

God said to Paul,

“My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect
in weakness.”

-2 Corinthians 12:9
